Toys For Bob certainly know how to tease us. Yet again, Spyro fans have found themselves convinced that yet another Spyro 4 tease has dropped.
It was in 2018’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy that the little purple fella last appeared on our screens, as a lead I should add.
Spyro does appear in Crash Team Rumble although given that support ended after just nine months, that’s clearly not a title with the most solid of playerbases.

It’s perhaps because Toys For Bob fans simply just want new Crash Bandicoot and Spyro mainline entries, not half-baked multiplayer spin-offs.
Toys For Bob do keep dropping cryptic hints. Last year, developers were pictured attending an Unreal Engine 5 presentation, gathered around a blurred out screen sporting a distinctive purple hue.
More recently, it was confirmed that Toys For Bob was going independent - choosing to break away from Microsoft.
They will maintain a relationship with Microsoft though, particularly on their next release which, interestingly for Spyro and Crash fans, teases to be “similar to games Toys For Bob has made in the past”.

You can still enjoy Crash Team Rumble for now. The servers remain live.
Additional fuel has now been added to the fire after Toys For Bob updated their website. Visitors are simply presented with a purple-hued tiki mask displayed on an otherwise black blank page.
I’m sure many of you will agree that the tiki mask brings Crash Bandicoot to mind due to its likeness to Aku Aku.

The purple hue though? That’s very Spyro.
Could this be a tease that both new Crash and Spyro projects are in development? Or is it simply a new logo that reflects the studio’s rich heritage?
It’s hard to say. I’m always dubious though when studios go dark in the lead up to Summer Game Fest.
It’s a key event in the year for new game reveals. The timing of this website change is highly suspicious to say the least.

With Summer Game Fest not due to be held until 7 June though, we’re going to have to sit tight for now.
