It has been a long time coming, but it seems that a new Spyro game is finally on the horizon, as teased on social media.
The news comes via a leak, so take this with a pinch of salt, but if true, the new Spyro game will be shown at the Xbox Showcase this Sunday.
Teased by eXtas1s over on Twitter, there are no major details about the game, only the information that Spyro will appear, as will the next game from Double Fine.

Sadly, they’re not one and the same, because Double Fine working on a Spyro game would be fire.
The only other information to note from the tease is that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one, and it will launch for PlayStation 5, also.
The last original Spyro game landed back in 2008, as the last part of the rebooted trilogy emerged, since then, we’ve only had the Reignited trilogy, which acted as a remaster of the OG games.
Of course, Spyro has appeared here and there, but after the oversaturation during the Skylanders toys-to-games fad, our beloved dragon went into hibernation.

Here’s hoping this news turns out to be true because the world needs another cute 3D platformer, and Spyro has a place in the hearts of many gamers.
A new game has been rumoured for quite some time, and demand has been high.
In 2017, Vicarious Visions were asked if they were aware how in demand a new Spyro game was, to which they replied, “just keep asking.”
Well, we’ve been asking for years, and now seems like the best time to get our boy back in the action, gliding around gorgeous worlds, and breathing fire at his enemies.
