Our beautiful boy is returning to us. We always hoped that he’d return, but after warnings that this might not happen, we were concerned for his welfare. But that worry has dissolved now that Crash Team Rumble has officially announced Spyro’s come back.

Several months ago, we were warned that both Spyro and Crash Bandicoot might not be returning to PlayStation thanks to the Xbox and Activision deal, resulting in fans prepping for the end of days. Some even rallied to petition for the franchise to stay on PlayStation in the hopes of keeping their nostalgia, and a legacy, alive.

Let's keep those flames coming with the Spyro Reignited Trilogy!

Although this isn’t news of Spyro’s own game, the fact that our boy is coming to Crash Team Rumble Season Three is nothing short of a relief. In the words of Redditor Kekoa_ok, via the magic of Hey Arnold, “Finally, some good news”. However, while Spyro fans are happy to see their favourite purple dragon back in action, they want him to return as more than just a Crash Bandicoot “sidekick”.

“I find it fascinating that this comes out the day of The Game Awards, almost feels like they're going to announce something,” speculated JimFusion on Reddit. This hope of Spyro 4 being in the works, even if it's only in its concept stages, was mirrored by other fans as well, “Nobody is convincing me anymore that a Spyro 4 isn't being worked on right now,” said NGinAndTonicTM_2 13 hours after the Crash Bandicoot Twitter page crashed onto our feeds with the Season Three reveal.

Spyro coming back bigger and stronger than ever, in his own game, is the end goal here. However, we'll take any time with our boy we can – needs must. Besides, Spyro is deserving of screen time; he’s been a familiar face to many of us since our childhoods, we owe him continued support until he returns to us in full, under his own banner.
