Skyrim fan works out how many steps it takes to cross the map, because why not

It's not as far as you think

A YouTuber has counted how many steps it takes to walk across the entirety of Skyrim’s map and we’re not sure if it’s a lot or far too few.

ShakeMistake played the game on stream, wearing a traditional Skyrim helmet, and proceeded to walk across the map.

Bethesda's other RPG Starfield is getting an official expansion DLC this year

It took them 14,000 steps in total and it took around two and a half hours.

To do this, ShakeMistake used an app called Stepl and connected it to Skyrim Live using equipment that allows them to walk in place.

Of course, after this challenge, people have asked them to walk up High Hrothgar to see if it really is 7,000 steps.

One Redditor has already commented on this: "Well, that means the way up to high Hrothgar isn't 7000 steps then, is it? F**kin lying ass mountain.”

“Next, stair climber, every step up to High Hrothgar.” says So1ahma. I think that’s going too far.

Another user, AThoughtfulFalcon, celebrated this by saying, “With stamina like that, you are truly the Dragonborn, also I love the music.”

ShakeMistake commented that they love fitness and video games, so this seemed to be an interesting way to combine the two.

They also confirmed, “Btw, with normal character speed, it took 5,000 steps and like 45 minutes.”

In order to pull off this achievement the YouTuber had to turn off AI detection otherwise they would have been mauled by wolves and other enemies.

Now plenty of Redditors are chipping in with new challenges based on this. While not a challenge, this comment should spawn an idea, “Imagine if he was carrying too much.”

Skyrim players are always finding new ways to play the game or get more out of it, it really is time we had a new Elder Scrolls so it would be nice if Bethesda could hurry that up.
