It turns out there’s a secret ending to one of Skyrim’s side quests which makes it a whole lot better.

Skyrim is a huge game with hundreds of different quests to do, and so you’re never going to see everything the game has to offer the first time around.

That’s why those who have played it over and over again since its original 2011 release are still discovering new things to do in the game.

That’s what happened with one player while they were doing The House of Horrors side quest in Markarth, where they found a new way to resolve it.

The quest essentially tasks you with entering a house in Markarth to remove the presence of the Daedric prince, Molag Bal.

However, finding Molag Bal results in him commanding you to break the priest Logrolf out of imprisonment in a nearby forsworn camp and bring him back to the house, so that he may break his spirit.

If you’re playing a morally good character, this might seem wrong.

After all, you’re essentially taking a priest to meet his doom at the hands of a devil.

It turns out that you can just kill Logrolf once you find him at the camp. That way, you defy Molag Bal and spare Logrolf from a horrible fate.

You do miss out on a mace as the quest reward, though. So keep that in mind.

“I always assumed Logrolf was essential until Molag trapped him, but I guess not!” wrote the player who discovered this on the Skyrim Reddit page.

“You can also soul trap Logrolf, ensuring Molag Bal doesn't get it,” wrote a follow-up comment. “Less morally good, considering you have to torture Logrolf though.”

Either way, it seems like Logrolf is in for a bad time no matter what you do. There doesn’t seem to be a way to keep him alive without completing the quest.

The only other thing to do what be to not accept it in the first place, letting the dude rot away in a Forsworn camp for the rest of time.

Considering the other options, this probably seems like the best thing for him.
