While Star Wars: The Acolyte may not yet be returning for a second season, fans of the television series are thrilled that Lucasfilm isn’t giving up on this project altogether.
I’m firmly with those calling for the renewal of The Acolyte although, I’ll admit, I think it’s unlikely to happen.
In fact, in my original review of the show, I wrote the following: “The Acolyte has truly got it all. From epic lightsaber duels to adorable droids and everything in between, these are the jigsaw pieces that make Star Wars what it is, and yet Headland places those pieces together in a way that feels both familiar and new.”
“Offering excellently paced episodes and a thrilling story packed with twists, turns, and revelations, The Acolyte doesn’t disappoint. Finally, someone has figured out what it is that made the golden age of Star Wars so special.”

Plenty of viewers agreed with my sentiment but sadly, The Acolyte didn’t garner the viewership it needed to secure a renewal.
Of course, the show was also sadly targeted by the ‘anti-woke’ mob with regards to its female protagonist and star.
While The Acolyte’s live-action future remains non-existent, Lucasfilm has in fact released three related projects this year alone which I highly recommend diving into if you’re looking for a new read.
Star Wars: The Acolyte - Visual Guide by Pablo Hidalgo is exactly what it sounds like, with a wonderful foreword from star Amandla Stenberg and some interesting lore that didn’t make it into the final cut of the first season.

Then, there’s Star Wars: The Acolyte - Wayseeker by Justina Ireland, an adult novel set before the events of the show as Vernestra Rwoh seeks to find her place in the Jedi Order.
Finally, you can check out Star Wars: The Acolyte - The Crystal Crown by Tessa Gratton; this is a young-adult novel which centres around fan-favourites Jecki and Yord after they attend a coming-of-age ritual gone wrong.
The book is pitched as Star Wars meets The Hunger Games which sounds pretty cool to me.
As I said, all of the above have gone down exceptionally well with fans who are clamouring for more.

“Not only do we need the show revived, but we also DEFINITELY need a novel about Qimir,” wrote Twitter/X user HarperKirkpatr1.
“Seriously hope you got some Skeleton Crew tie-ins in the tank,” added Alric_strife01, “It would be bad if you reinforce the slop yet ignore the gold.”
I’m with you there, my friend. Skeleton Crew’s lack of renewal is criminal; it’s up there with Andor for me.
I really hope Star Wars’ future is bright, but it keeps learning the wrong lessons and that concerns me.
