It seems that Valve dropped a handy little feature on the Steam storefront a while back, and a lot of us didn’t notice… although to be fair, you kind of wouldn’t know they implemented it in the first place if you didn’t come across it by accident.
I feel like it’s pretty easy to take Steam for granted sometimes.
Sure, the recent drama surrounding NSFW games being removed from the platform has ticked off a lot of people, but it’s still the best storefront for PC games by a very, very large margin.
That’s why you may not have even noticed that there’s a feature on Steam that helps combat people review-bombing games. Personally, I straight up forgot this was even a thing, because I haven’t seen it referenced on the storefront for quite a while.

One user over on the r/Steam subreddit found a pretty recent example of the feature in action: Craftopia.
Apparently, Craftopia has been getting review-bombed recently due to a perceived lack of updates. Now, I’m not entirely familiar with whether or not the community is correct about that, but it seems that Steam has decided they aren’t.
That’s probably because the game has been receiving updates, as recently as a week ago, by the looks of things. That’s assumedly why Steam decided to flag these reviews, and altered the score of Craftopia to reflect this.
Now I have this setting turned off on Steam (which you can do by going to Settings, then Account, then Edit Account Details, and then finally to “Review Score Settings” under Store Preferences).

This means that, on my Steam account, the 77% Mostly Positive review score for Craftopia actually comes out as a… 76% Mostly Positive review score.
Yeah, it’s hardly a big difference, but still. It’s nice to know, I guess?
