Steam drops 6 new free games, yours to keep forever

Free games!

Steam has dropped six new games that you can download for free and keep forever.

I loved it back in the day, picking up a video game magazine, not just to check out the latest reviews and to see what new games are on the way, but also to see what’s on the free demo disc.

The demo disc always had a few playable demos to check out (at least), as well as new trailers and more. It was a wonderful time, long before the internet became mainstream, when there were plenty of surprises in the world of video games.

Sadly, those days are a thing of the past, but saying that, accessing free demos has never been easier on digital platforms for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo.

However, not only is it easier than ever to access free demos, but also full free games, whether it’s an indie title or a big AAA free-to-play release.

With that in mind, here are six games that you can download via Steam (thanks, Free Steam Games) and keep forever:

  • Boogie Cruise: “Is a fast-paced indie racing game with a wild twist! Blaze through epic tracks, then dive into a mysterious dungeon packed with action-adventure thrills. Face an unforgettable boss battle and prove your skills in this one-of-a-kind racing adventure!”
  • Touhou Crawl: “Is a Touhou derivative roguelike game. Conquer the dungeon-ified Gensokyo using items, faith, and tactics!”
  • Paths of the Visionaries: “Grab your notebook, trust your gut, or throw a punch—whatever works. This love letter to classic 2D JRPGs throws high schoolers, detectives, and street toughs into a tangled web of conspiracies, lurking horrors, and uncertain paths. Every shadow hides a secret—reveal them or be lost to the void.”
  • JungleBoys: “Enter the jungle to fight for your survival in this local splitscreen showdown. Heal up, collect items to use in combat, and look for other players to fight in custom lobbies with friends. The last player standing wins. Gameplay in the jungle supports Xbox controller use for up to four players.”
  • Steel Swarm: APOCALYPSE: “SSA is the HARDEST MOBA (5vs5, three lanes, destroy HQ)! But SSA needs True Skill: Speed, aim and strategy! Battle enemy heroes weaving through swarms, explore the jungle accomplishing missions, enhance your build with mods and upgrades, and demolish the city to forge new paths, altering the map.”
  • OAsys - Speedbots Tournament: “A fast-paced, competitive racing game set in a solarpunk universe. You play as a speedbot, an athlete competing in a spectacular and perilous new tournament filled with robots, lasers, and a healthy dose of style!”

So, there you have it, those are just six games that you can download from Steam today and keep forever.
