Skyrim player find fall damage trick that lets you leap off mountains

Did you know about this Skyrim trick?

After all these years, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the gift that keeps on giving with its devoted fanbase continually discovering tricks and secrets, as featured in today’s topic of discussion.

When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released in 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, I bet not even Bethesda could have predicted the massive success it would become over a decade later, even by the standards that this iconic series had previously set.

Fans of the ever-popular Skyrim have been sharing tips and tricks on Reddit. “What are your favourite Skyrim life hacks?” asked flex645 and the thread wasn't shy of suggestions.

“Become Ethereal," suggested madchickenz. “The best utility thing in the game. Never walk down a mountainside again: just jump. Never dodge swinging blades again: just walk through. Never die to a dragon in an open field: stand invincible. Never run out of stamina while sprinting: become Ethereal.”

“Being Ethereal protects you from all damage?! I thought it was just in combat, I have never used it,” replied Lilwormonabigfknhook. “I’m definitely going to the Winterhold bridge and jumping in Ethereal form.”

Madchickenz responded, “Absolutely! Jump off the Throat of the World, my friend.”

However, one Reddit user was quick to correct one important factor of being an Ethereal. “It doesn't last forever and your stamina doesn't recover while you sprint. I think the Whirlwind Sprint is still preferable for covering distance,” they said.

The next time I start up a new campaign in Skyrim, I might just try this tip out for myself. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
