Skyrim meets God of War in epic open-world Unreal Engine 5 RPG

Skyrim meets God of War in epic open-world Unreal Engine 5 RPG

Skyrim meets God of War in epic upcoming open-world RPG Legend of YMIR, powered by Unreal Engine 5.

What if there was a game that had elements of both God of War and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? Well, it just so happens that there is such a game that exists, but it does come with a caveat.

The God of War franchise has always been known for its high-octane combat, whether Kratos is slaying the Greek gods or those of Norse mythology post-2018 with fantastic entries such as the most recent God of War Ragnarök. What’s more, the world of Skyrim is also inspired by Scandinavian Norse mythology, which is why the game for today’s topic of discussion has caught our eye.

Check out the Legend of YMIR gameplay trailer below!

Developed by South Korean studio WEMADE, the game in question is the promising open-world MMORPG Legend of YMIR and it's powered by the almighty Unreal Engine 5. To say that Legend of YMIR looks stunning would be an understatement. Let’s just hope that whenever it may be released, it plays every bit as good as it looks.

Legend of YMIR will be an extension of WEMADES’ MIR series and will feature PvP battles in the form of sieges and its world can also be explored with others. After all, it is an MMORPG of course. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that Legend of YMIR will have NFT implementation. At this time, we’re not sure how that will be incorporated, but it’s something that is likely worth keeping an eye on as needless to say, 'includes NFTs' is never a phrase you want to hear.

It does seem strange that there are still upcoming games that insist on implementing NFTs, especially when you consider that the blockchain echo system appears to be on the decline.

At this time with Legend of YMIR being an MMORPG that features NFTs, it’s likely to be a PC release only and may not come to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, but we'll be keeping an eye out.
