The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be rapidly approaching its 15-year anniversary but it seems as though Bethesda still has time to update its hit RPG.

This is perhaps unsurprising considering The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is widely regarded as Bethesda’s best RPG with players still flocking to it well over a decade from its first release.

Check out the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

However, you cannot deny that the main reason for its replayability is thanks to its dedicated modding community which regularly adds brand-new content, cosmetics, and more on a daily basis.

Mods are great, it is true but they come with one small catch.

Every time Bethesda releases an official update for Skyrim, modders have to dive back into their creations and update them too.

In the meantime, old mods can quite literally break player’s save files and as you can imagine, that is quite frustrating, especially according to user kickynew over on r/skyrim.

“STOP updating Skyrim!”, their post read.

“I thought I was in the clear after the last recent update, but now it seems that semi-regular updates are back.

And now my modded save seems ruined just as I was about to get into the DLC content.

Bethesda, for the love of Christ, PLEASE STOP updating Skyrim! The game is over twelve years old!

Go work on something else!!!

RIP my 60-hour save file.”

Oops.

Fellow fans recommended turning off auto updates and downgrading the game to the previous patch, whilst others reveal that there is just one update they would like to see for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

“There's only one update I'd want, one where they added content cut from the original release,” one user admitted.

I would definitely be up for that one.

Either way, it seems as though Bethesda has finally turned its attention to development for The Elder Scrolls VI but when that may be released remains a mystery.
