Skyrim becomes hardcore survival game in this stunning free download

Hardcore Skyrim fans need to check out this free download

Despite being released well over 10 years ago, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still arguably just as popular as ever with adventurers never getting enough of Tamriel.

That being said, those hardcore Skyrim fans may have seen all that the game has to offer. Thankfully, Skyrim just so happens to be supported by a fantastic modding community that continually brings new life to the popular fantasy RPG from Bethesda. Whether it’s new content, improved visuals, bug fixes and more, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the gift that keeps on giving.

Check out the Skyrim Anniversary Edition trailer below!

If you’re looking for an added challenge for your Skyrim escapades, then look no further than the free ‘Survival Mode Improved’ mod created by colinswrath. As the title of this mod very clearly suggests, survival in Tamriel is the name of the game and you can download it now via Nexusmods. If this mod doesn't help to pass the time until The Elder Scrolls VI arrives, then I don’t know what else will.

“Survival Mode Improved - SKSE is an SKSE plugin implementation of Skyrim's Survival Mode, more specifically, Survival Mode Improved,” reads the description of the mod. “Survival Mode has been rebuilt from the ground up utilizing C++ (CommonLibSSE-NG) rather than Papyrus. No more straining the Papyrus VM with Survival Mode's polling and hit events, etc.”

One of the benefits of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is the addition of mods being available on consoles, something that is typically exclusive to PC. However, while this “Improved” version of the survival mod is only available on PC, the older version is available on Xbox, at least according to the mods FAQ.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. As for The Elder Scrolls VI, that currently does not have a release date.
