Capcom has remade one of the best Resident Evil games, and it might not be what you expect.
When it comes to survival horror, Capcom has crafted its Resident Evil series to near perfection. Well, mostly. There is Umbrella Corps, but we try not to talk about that failed competitive Esports attempt.
Over the years, we’ve had a plethora of fantastic Resident Evil entries, many of which have been remakes.
Capcom knows how to take what made an original game a success, but adds new elements such as expanding on the lore, adding new areas and enemies, making it appealing to new and returning fans alike.

My favourite remake of all time is Resident Evil, released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002, before arriving on other platforms over the years. As a close second, it’s the Resident Evil 2 remake of 2019.
The fantastic Resident Evil 2 remake is the topic of today’s discussion, because it’s just received another remake, but this time, it ventures into another genre, while still retaining its survival horror roots.
As brought to our attention by Eurogamer, located at Namco Funscape Arcade in Romford, on the border of Essex and East London, you’ll find the new lightgun co-op game, Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot.
Developed by Bandai Namco, in collaboration with Capcom, Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot is a game that can only currently be played in the aforementioned UK arcade.

In Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot, you can play as Leon S. Kennedy and/or Claire Redfield, in a closed lightgun cabinet complete with rumble feedback and “blasts of air” for added immersion.
It should be stated that this remake is a “global test copy” and is not the finished product. So, hopefully, we’ll see Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot in more arcades in the UK and across the world in the coming months.
“Oh my god, I need to play this,” replied jceeclayton to the tweet above.
“Nice. I'm going to Romford on Thursday. Will give it a go,” said diehardest13.

“I need to play this,” declared RaelXRWorkout.
I loved the classic lightgun games back in the day, such as Time Crisis and House of the Dead, and even an obscure Silent Hill game that I found in a random holiday arcade.
Being an obsessed Resident Evil fan, if I find myself down those neck of the woods one day, I’ll have to check out Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot.
