There’s a new game on the way that seemingly takes inspiration from the likes of Resident Evil and Bloodborne, and it sounds horrifyingly good.

As a horror game fan I’m obviously very into the Resident Evil games, with my personal favourite being Resident Evil 4, either the original or the remake, I’m not picky.

You just can’t go wrong with Leon Kennedy supplexing village folk, it never gets old

That said I’m also a fan of more psychological horror, and for that I don’t think there’s anything better than Bloodborne with its eldritch monstrosities and harrowing themes.

Now, there’s a game coming out that looks like it could be the best of both worlds called Ritual Tides, and you can’t find a first-look at the game online right now.

Created by former Rockstar Games and TT Games devs, Ritual Tides is apparently a game about finding yourself “washed ashore on an island beach with just one goal: uncovering the island's terrifying secrets.”

The game has published an official breakdown of the title on YouTube, going over what the game is about and some of the stories from development, including using Unreal Engine 5.

It’s promised to be one of the highest quality horror games of 2025, a bold claim but one it might just live up to.

As for when it’ll launch there’s currently no release date at the time of writing, but it’ll hopefully come out sometime this year.

It’ll launch on PCs first but a console version will apparently come later, so everyone will be able to experience the horror title at some point.

Honestly it sounds like a very exciting title, and hopefully we get some more gameplay soon as it’d be good to see it in action.

It’s one to keep an eye on especially if you’re a fan of games like Resident Evil and Bloodborne like I am.
