Resident Evil fans have received an update regarding the potential remakes we’ve been waiting for.
When it comes to remakes, perhaps no one does it better than Capcom. Not only with the more recent remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 (well…) and Resident Evil 4, but also the fantastic remake of the original game for the Nintendo GameCube way back in 2002.
Given that Capcom tends to knock it out of the park when it comes to remakes from the Resident Evil series, survival horror fans want nothing more than to see that goodness continuing to flow.

Fans have not only longed for a remake of the underappreciated Resident Evil Outbreak series but also 2000’s Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which originally released on the also underappreciated SEGA Dreamcast.
There have been some rumours suggesting that a remake is on the way for Resident Evil Code: Veronica at least, but also, to much surprise, Resident Evil Zero, which was initially released in the same year as the beloved GameCube remake.
When a Twitter user asked industry leaker AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, what the next Resident Evil game will be, they said it will be Resident Evil 9 (currently not its official name), to no surprise whatsoever.
However, they also reignited previous rumours claiming that there are plans by Capcom to release remakes for both Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero.

At the time of writing, we don't know when Resident Evil 9 will be released, but it’s widely believed that it will be sometime in 2026. Hopefully, we’ll learn more at Summer Game Fest this weekend, if Capcom’s beloved series makes an appearance.
Assuming that rumours are true with Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero remakes being in the works, I’d guess they could release anytime between 2026 to 2028.
We’ll update you once we learn more, but in the meantime, take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
