When it comes to Rockstar Games, the focus is understandably on Grand Theft Auto VI. After all, it may just be the most anticipated game of all-time. It’s going to be a wild day when a reveal trailer is finally released. That game aside though, many Rockstar fans are wondering if a potential Red Dead Redemption 3 is on the cards.

To this day, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains a popular firm-favourite for many, so you’d think that a Red Dead Redemption 3 feels like a no brainer. In the past couple of weeks alone, fans have created an incredible playable Sadie Adler mod, found an adorable open-world event after 1,500 hours, added iconic Red Dead Redemption locations to the popular sequel via a mod, and discussed what a possible Sadie Adler DLC might look like. There’s never a dull moment in the Red Dead fan community and today, fans are imagining a potential Red Dead 3.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

One thing fans are in agreement about is that the game should be set at the peak of the Wild West. Over on Reddit, user SadRerman posed the question, “What would you rather want RDR3 to be?” offering the options of an RDR2 prequel focused around a young Arthur Morgan, or a sequel set in the “industrial timeline, [where] you play as Jack Marston or another surviving character.”

Davin1985 wrote, “Completely new story with a few nods to 1 and 2. I’d like the game to be set in the West's heyday, rather than nearing the end of outlaws' time,” while hmmbugger added, “New characters, set a lot earlier in time in the wilder days of the West. More freedom to be [had], less law and order. Not this sad and depressing story and end of era / times are changing thing anymore. Happier grittier times, maybe 1860s to mid 70s. No need for a redemption arc anymore. No Van Der Linde gang members, only as single missions or cameo at most, we know their story, it is finished.”

NAVAJ45 wrote, “I still say if the third is set in the peak of the West then playing as Landon Ricketts is an absolute must. Out of all the legendary gunslingers Landon is probably the most recognised.” Are you on board with the idea? It would certainly be a shake up for the series.
