Ah, Red Dead Redemption 2 - the single-player game that literally never runs out of content.

Rockstar Games seriously put everything it had into developing Red Dead Redemption 2, and it shows. The in-game discoveries have never stopped coming - you’d think half a decade on from any game’s release, we’d reach a point where every detail had been found, but that’s not the case. Just this year, players have uncovered some awesome hidden features tied to hunter camps and wildlife, and honestly, I don’t think that’ll be the last of the findings.

Take a look at some of the funniest Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

Even if gamers do eventually manage to consume every piece of Red Dead Redemption 2 content though, modders are constantly developing new additions to the game, some of which have the power to transform it into something completely new. One brilliant example of this is Nexus Mods user bolmin’s Basic Needs Final Cut mod - a seriously in-depth mod which adds a bunch of additional survival mechanics to the game.

Along with a number of new features, the mod adds cores for equipment weight, exhaustion, hunger, urination and thirst. You can activate any or all of these at will, and each of them will require you to take extra steps throughout your gameplay to ensure that poor Arthur doesn’t suffer the consequences (those consequences being your other cores draining at a faster rate, or taking poison damage). The actions you’ll need to take are fairly self explanatory based on the names of the cores - just make sure Arthur eats, drinks, gets plenty of sleep, doesn’t carry too much heavy equipment, and remembers to go to the loo every now and then.

For obvious reasons, only PC gamers will be able to experience this, but these extra survival mechanics make for a really fun new way of playing Red Dead Redemption 2 if you want to spice up your next playthrough a bit. You can download the mod for free from here.
