'Red Dead Redemption 2' Players Horrified As Hackers Force Racist Content Into Game

Horrified members of the Red Dead Redemption 2 community have called on Rockstar to take action against a group of hackers who targeted a Twitch streamer with a disgusting campaign of racist harassment.

While Red Dead Redemption 2's Red Dead Online mode isn't anything like as popular as Grand Theft Auto Online, it still has a dedicated playerbase who frequently beg Rockstar to invest more time and effort into improving the experience with new content and features.

But players were united in their shock and outrage earlier this week when a Twitch streamer revealed that hackers have been forcing racist content into the game.

As reported by Dexerto, a streamer by the name ‘MiltonTPike1’ revealed exactly what a group of hackers have been doing in Red Dead Online, and called on Rockstar to address the situation immediately.

“I stopped playing Red Dead Online on-stream because script-kids would non-stop teleport streamers (like me) to one area, change everyone’s name to the N-word, dress up as KKK members, and burn/hang people, with all other players forced to sit and watch,” he wrote on Twitter.

He added that the issue has even managed to infect the single-player Red Dead Redemption 2.

“I found out today…that I can’t even play RDR2 *SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN* because apparently, script-kids can now bombard you with malformed multiplayer invites which disconnect you and send you back to the main menu. Why does it work? Because it’s impossible to block multiplayer invites."

Notable Rockstar insider Tez2 responded to the thread, joining the streamer's calls to Rockstar to take action.

“Unfortunately, there’s not much you could do without Rockstar intervening,” they wrote. “The whole 'dress as KKK members' happened before & Rockstar addressed it with a background update. Surprised it still happens. However, Red Dead Online background updates are no longer as frequent as they used to be.”

Another user added: “I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t get fixed. This has been happening in GTA Online as well. Not as bad as the whole KKK stuff, but it’s been happening for so long with no fixes.”

Rockstar Games has yet to respond.
