After putting in well over a thousand hours, a player stumbles across a spooky secret in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Released in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely considered to be one of the best video games of all time, as indicated by its mighty Metacritic score of 97, more than earning its “Must Play” accolade.

Some could fairly argue that the Red Dead Redemption series is better than any of Rockstar Games’ other offerings from Grand Theft Auto.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel tale, set before the events of the 2010 game that was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which starred John Marston.

“Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are outlaws on the run,” reads the synopsis of Red Dead Redemption 2.

“With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must choose between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang that raised him.”

Aside from its fantastic story that will keep you hooked throughout its campaign, its huge open world could keep you busy for a significant amount of hours. From gambling in a saloon, bounty hunting or tracking legendary animals, there’s tons to do in its vibrant Western world.

You can spend hundreds of hours in its huge open world, and still make discoveries today, or in the case of this Reddit user, 1,300 hours!

“Welp, after about 1,300 hours of play, I finally came across it by total random!” said Rowsdower32, sharing an awesome screenshot of a ghost train.

“That was the old New York Central City Albany! Derailed in 1920, killed hundreds of people! Did you catch the number on the locomotive?” replied Intelligent_End1516, quoting Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters II, played by the late, great Harold Ramis.

“Picture goes hard. Nice find!” SANDMAN7504 congratulated.

“I've never seen this! This game continues to amaze me. I'm so glad this is one game that I never actively search out all of its secrets,” exclaimed zcicecold.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s also backwards compatible on modern consoles.
