Red Dead Redemption 2 players can now download a popular feature from Grand Theft Auto V, but only on PC.
The PC release of Grand Theft Auto V in 2014 brought about many new features, including improved graphical features, a first-person view, and better performance.
It also introduced Director Mode, a brand new gameplay mode which allows players to essentially film their own scenes within GTA V.
You can control every aspect of the scene, including the time of day, weather, characters and their actions, and it’s been used to create countless machinima over the years for up-and-coming digital creators.

Red Dead Redemption 2 never received this feature, meaning that custom virtual movies and photography never really took off in the game. There was photo mode, but you had to manually set everything up yourself in-game rather than being able to set it up yourself.
That’s all changed now, though, thanks to a new mod by creator videotech, which introduces the Director’s Creator Suite to Red Dead Redemption 2, with similar functionality as the Director Mode in Grand Theft Auto V.
“Director's Creator Suite aims to replicate GTA V's Rockstar Editor in Red Dead Redemption 2,” videotech writes.
“Built from the ground up using natives from Photo Mode and the game's core native functions, the mod provides a powerful toolkit for virtual photographers and video makers to create content within this vast and still gorgeous open world that Rockstar Games crafted with such care.”

The advanced photo mode included with the mod adds new features to photo mode, which is already included in Red Dead Redemption 2, such as frame skip, 360° capture, and custom lights support.
Meanwhile, you can now create videos with ease using the Director’s Suite. It has OBS integration, allowing you to record videos in-game and alter scenes using a variety of different options.
Using a hotkey on your PC, you can position the camera exactly where you want to put it, and create a series of cameras which you can pan, zoom, or switch between at any moment, essentially allowing you to film your own scenes within Red Dead Redemption 2.
Some additional features in the mod include being able to set custom zoom levels, transition duration, different shake effects, depth of field, focus distance, and per-camera overrides for weather and time of day.
Essentially, it should mean that more machinima featuring Red Dead Redemption 2 scenes should start appearing on YouTube and other social media video-sharing platforms in the future.
While the tool isn’t quite as deep as the official one from GTA V, it does at least mean that content creators will be able to do more with the tools they’re given.
You can download Director’s Creator Suite now from the Red Dead Redemption 2 page on Nexus Mods.
