Red Dead Redemption 2 New Locations Discovered Seven Years After Release

I can’t remember seeing this!

A Red Dead Redemption 2 player discovers a location that many of us probably missed.

Developed by the famed Grand Theft Auto studio, Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time. As reflected by its very impressive score of 97 on the aggregate website, Metacritic.

Set before the events of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, in this prequel, you play as Arthur Morgan, a leading member of the infamous band of outlaws, collectively known as the Dutch Van der Linde gang.

“America, 1899. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are outlaws on the run,” reads the synopsis of Red Dead Redemption 2.

“With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang that raised him.”

Other than being an amazing game to play in its own right, as well as looking visually stunning, there are not many open-world maps as immersive as the one in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Whether it’s taking on side story missions, tracking legendary wild animals, hunting down a bounty, searching for treasure or simply interacting with its many delightful NPCs, there’s no shortage of activities.

With a map as huge as it is, it’s no surprise that it’s packed full of secrets yet to be discovered, despite releasing roughly seven years ago in 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before arriving on PC the following year.

One such discovery was made by Reddit user Independent-War6213, and it’s one found in the snowy mountain tops in Ambarino.

“Playing the game since the launch, and never saw this in the mountains,” they said, sharing a couple of screenshots featuring the location in question. “Maybe everyone knows this place, but I had really never seen it, in almost 1,000 hours of gameplay.”

“Never had the Hawk Talon Trinket then..?” asked dronebox, to which Independent-War6213 replied, “No. I never had this; it was the first time. I really didn't know this kind of thing was in the game.”

Dronebox then replied with the helpful comment, “There are quite a few trinkets in the game, find them and you'll benefit from some helpful little perks.”

“You can also find a Repeater [rifle] up in the mountains close to that area, on a frozen guy,” added Practical_Wind_1917.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s also backwards compatible on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
