Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest games ever made. That's just the way it is. It's an unavoidable truth, like the Earth being round and dads being too stubborn to ask for directions.

Despite being almost five years old now (and no whiff of an official new-gen update apparently), Red Dead Redemption 2 has aged like fine wine. Tons of killer mods that add new content and complete graphical overhauls have also helped add extra shelf-life to a game that Rockstar Games seems oddly committed to flatly ignoring.

While Rockstar clearly has no intention of bringing any kind of single-player DLC to Red Dead Redemption 2, one fan has asked an amazing question: what if Jack the Ripper came to Saint Denis?

The timings certainly match up. The infamous serial killer was active in London around 1888, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is set a decade later in 1899. Could the Ripper have fled London to inflict horror in America? This fan-made DLC trailer seems to think so, and I'm fully here for it.

Creator Red Dead Dreams explains that the trailer was created by using the Assassin's Creed Syndicate Ripper DLC as its inspiration. "Each and every piece of footage is taken in Red Dead Redemption 2 In Saint Denis City with the help of a cinematic camera mod," they explain.

The reception to the trailer has, of course, been overwhelmingly positive. Many have called on Rockstar to make it happen for real, which obviously is a complete dream at this point.

"Rockstar games needs to hire you so you can create gaming masterpieces like these! That's how amazing this trailer is," enthused one fan.

Of course anyone who's been following Rockstar for the last few years will know that it's currently laser-focused on delivering a little game called GTA 6. The good news is that recent reports suggest we'll be seeing the long-awaited sequel as early as next year, so that's something.
