Red Dead Redemption 2 players uncover hidden horse trick we all missed

What a good boah!

Another day, another Red Dead Redemption 2 discovery that you wished you had learned years ago - and this time, there’s a way to deal with those pesky thieves.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may have been out for almost six years but that doesn’t mean that players have uncovered all the secrets the open-world title has to offer.

Check out the trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 below!

Just recently, players discovered an NPC that they swear they hadn’t seen before as well as alternate endings that will break your heart. All of this is clear that Rockstar Games wasn’t messing around when it made an expansive open-world to explore to your heart’s content.

Now courtesy of one user over on r/reddeadredemption2, we have another handy tip which relates to your loyal mount.

In reply to a post that asked “What is your biggest 'TIL' moment throughout any of your playthrough(s)?” one person replied: “If your horse is stolen, simply calling it makes the horse buck the thief off and return to you. I learned this like last week, it's my fourth or fifth playthrough haha.”

Were you as shocked as me?

I never would have thought to do this but it makes sense considering your loyal horse comes whenever they are called. Not only that but it is instant karma for the thief.

One person replied to this, saying: “I tried this fully expecting it not to work, and was super pleased. Good boah! Now, do you think if your bond isn't high enough this doesn't work? That'd make sense”.

However, it seems as though this feature is made available as soon as you’re able to call your mount. Additionally, other people in the thread have reported never having had their horses stolen before.

It makes you think how many experiences in Red Dead Redemption 2 we have actually missed.
