Red Dead Redemption 2 fans wish they could 'experience this game for the first time again'

If only we could do it all over again.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most beloved games in recent years and is looked upon very fondly by its fans.

When Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in 2018, it allowed players to live the Wild West fantasy life like never before. In it, you played Arthur Morgan, a leading member of a bandit group led by Dutch van der Linde.

Players were pretty much able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 how they pleased - whether it's partaking in the main story missions, its random encounters, or its immersive side activities such as hunting. The map of Red Dead Redemption 2 is not only huge, but it's also gorgeous and brimming with life thanks to its impressive ecosystem.

As an evolution from 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, RDR2 has a morality system which would adapt depending on how players interacted with NPCs. This ultimately would have an impact on how certain NPCs responded to you and some would even remember your actions, even if you had long forgotten.

For me, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of my favourite games of all time and despite a few questionable moments, my Arthur Morgan was a good guy. I cherished my version of Arthur so much so that I'll probably never replay RDR2 with an evil version of the beloved character. That is unless, by pure mystical magic, I was able to experience RDR2 for the first time all over again.

“I wish I could experience this game for the first time again,” said Redditor Howls_with_Wolves, opening up the discussion on the thread talking about Rockstar Games’ epic adventure.

“Agreed. This is the main game I would do a memory eraser on, so I can experience everything for the first time again,” replied Astrojef. “Me too, me too,” adds F4N6Z.

“When I played story mode for my third time, what I did was turn off the compass, used no map, [and] played in first person. Wow,” said Disneycrazygirl. “That was intense, but it gave me a different perspective of the game.” To be fair, perhaps that’s what I should do if I decide to play RDR2 for a second time.

In related news, some players have only just found a secret ending in Red Dead Redemption 2, while others have discovered the disturbing identity of ‘The Strange Man’.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What’s more, it’s also backwards compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
