Rockstar Games has just revealed a brand new event for Red Dead Redemption II’s mode Red Dead Online, and it’s available… right this second.

Are you getting bored waiting for Grand Theft Auto VI? Or even Red Dead Redemption III, a game that definitely won’t come out until we’re all nearing retirement age?

Well ,don’t worry, because Rockstar Games just released a new event for Red Dead Online that you can get your hands on right this second, and it’s adding a whole brand new game mode to Red Dead Redemption II.

The latest Red Dead Online event, Head For the Hills, adds a new spin on the classic mode, Showdown.

“Brace for impact in Head for the Hills (Dodge a Bullet), a new high-stakes twist on the classic Red Dead Online Showdown mode”, Rockstar Games revealed on the official Red Dead Online site.

“Runners must race across treacherous terrain to reach their Safehouse. Meanwhile, Defenders will occupy a vantage point with long-range firepower and eliminate the Runners one-by-one.”

Plus, alongside the new event, you can also earn 3X Red Dead Online cash rewards, all the fishing items are half-off, and there's even a bunch of fresh weekly rewards too-- oh, and there's 3X XP as well.

Look, it’ll hardly keep you occupied for long during the wait for Grand Theft Auto VI, but at least it’s something.

Honestly, I’m mostly just surprised they’re still supporting this game, given that they clearly can’t be bothered to pump out any single-player DLC for Red Dead Redemption II’s base game.

I hope you guys weren’t hoping to get some single-played DLC for Grand Theft Auto VI, akin to something like GTA IV’s The Ballad of Gay Tony, because I think it’s fair to say that Rockstar Games are very much done with new single-played content at this point.
