A new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod has made it easier than ever to get across the Mexican border.

While Red Dead Redemption 2’s world is already absolutely massive, one thing that players have constantly requested is some kind of Mexico expansion pack.

Mexico, which appeared in the original Red Dead Redemption as the key location of the game’s second act, is also fully rendered in RDR2, but it lacks certain details and polish.

And of course, you can’t actually go there without using glitches or mods, which has been a cause for upset among players who enjoyed exploring Mexico’s arid deserts and rural farming towns in the first game.

Of course, it makes sense why this is the case. Neither Arthur nor John ever visit south of the border during the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, so there was no need to feature it as a visitable location.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Can Now Access Mexico Via The Bridge

Still, this one mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 has made getting to Mexico easier than ever, by making a very simple change to the game’s overworld map.

Developed by modder JeremysGaming, the “Bridge to Mexico with Original Bridge” mod does exactly as it says on the tin by letting you travel to Mexico via the bridge.

Instead of having you exploit a glitch or using a teleport feature to magically sprout you inside Mexico, this mod simply removes the invisible wall separating both landmasses, allowing you to pass freely between America and Mexico.

It means that you don’t need to get an Out of Bounds mod to make the journey south, nor will you need to exploit any glitches to make it there safely. You should be free to now visit Mexico via the bridge, just as you can do in the original Red Dead Redemption after you hit the game’s second act.

While there isn’t really a lot to do in Mexico, you should be able to explore a lot of the rendered surfaces which appear in the game. You won’t find any NPCs or wildlife, but some of the settlements appear rendered with limited interactivity.

It’s fun for a time, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that Mexico is something that is needed in Red Dead Redemption 2. The base game was already large enough, after all.

If you want to check it out, you can go to the mod’s page on the Red Dead Redemption 2 Nexus Mods portal and download it for yourself.

There are a few other Red Dead Redemption 2 mods which we’d recommend playing. Rampage Trainer, for example, gives you more control over certain game behaviours, such as NPC artificial intelligence, your own equipment, and your position on the map.

We’d also recommend other mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 like Crime and Law Rebalance and Enhancement, which makes the game’s bounty system more realistic, and Dynamic Seasons, which makes the passing of time a lot more interesting.
