Red Dead Redemption 2 gamers are not happy with the new Halloween update, and we totally get why.

For many, Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered to be one of the best games of all time. Many may even say that it’s better than any Grand Theft Auto game, and that would be fair.

Originally released in 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before coming to PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the game that launched in 2010, starring John Marston.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, you play as Arthur Morgan, one of the leading members of the Dutch van der Linde gang. A gang that we were first introduced to in 2010. Its tale depicts the fall of the infamous outlaw group that leads to its heartbreaking demise.

For those who have never played Red Dead Redemption 2, you’re missing out on a treat. That being said, it might be worth holding out a little longer if rumours of a modern remaster releasing soon are true.

A year after the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, we were treated to Red Dead Online, which is included with purchases of the main game (and is now available individually).

Fans who were having fun with Red Dead Online were hoping that its natural trajectory would at least replicate some of the success garnered by GTA Online. Sadly, that was not meant to be.

It soon became apparent that Red Dead Online would not be getting the same level of expansion-sized content updates that we see in GTA Online.

What’s more, in terms of major content support, Rockstar Games pretty much admitted that it was done with Red Dead Online, which was not what fans wanted to hear.

That’s not to say that Red Dead Online doesn't get free events, because it does, it’s just nowhere near the extent of GTA Online. Still, it did get a fun Undead Nightmares-inspired event quite recently, which was a rarity.

Rumoured to be included in the recent Red Dead Online event is its customary season pass. Which, like most season passes, unlocks content and currency, as long as you pay for it and put in the work to unlock its tiers. Pretty standard stuff.

Yet, Red Dead Online fans are not happy with the latest season pass, and we get it.

“Apparently, the ‘Halloween Pass 2’ is returning,” announced Redditor mathws_m, kicking off the discussion on the thread.

“Rockstar Games changed the pass’ availability date on the RDO catalogue website (this also happened in 2022/23). It looks like the second Halloween Pass is returning for the fifth time in a row.”

“We need to get in contact with the intern responsible for this and teach them how to activate the other Uutlaw Passes already,” joked throwawayaccount062.

“Every year, October comes around since 2020 (when I got RDR2), I get false hope that maybe, just MAYBE, Rockstar Games will turn things around and actually give a damn about its latest release,” exclaimed ptracey. “But nope, all they care about is its cash cow, GTA Online.”

“They are very lazy. They could have used something fresh to bring players back”, suggested an agitated Luftwaffle412.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online are playable on PC, as well as modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
