Pokemon Pokopia has officially taken over my life. Like many of you, I’ve spent my last few nights meticulously placing fences and trying to figure out the difference between a home and a habitat. In fact, I spent the better part of my first 10 hours grinding for materials just to build a handful of flimsy leaf dens. I wish I knew this one specific trick before I blew my entire budget on basic housing.
However, despite my obsession, I am nowhere near the point of building the gorgeous, sprawling estates for my Pokémon friends that I’ve seen trending on social media. I’m paralysed by indecision - where could ever be a worthy home for Peakychu?
I spent hours creating a beautiful home by the beach for her, but it turns out there is a much more space-efficient, and significantly cheaper, way to house your Pokémon.
Instead of buying kits from the Pokemon Center, you can simply create a 4x4 square using the Leafage ability, and place a log stool, table and mug inside, then mount a door on the front. Easy!
According to Twitter user @yolandafister, this houses up to 4 Pokemon.

It has to be 4x4 - any bigger and the game won't recognise it as a house. This will save you time and resources in the early game, but it’s very min-max.
It’ll boost the environment level, but, in my opinion, it really misses a key part of why Pokemon Pokopia is the internet’s new favourite game.
Part of the joy is about creating your perfect space. I get it, I’m exhausted with it too. But, as the user points out, making things is even more joyful when you complete the story mode and unlock all the tools that make making things 100 times easier.
In saying that, I loved Terraria, and this is just Terraria rules.
So yeah, Peakychu and her pals can stay in a prison cell, for now.
Saying that though, if you’re struggling with decorating, we’ve pulled together some really useful tips that the game doesn’t tell you about decorating. Maybe it’s just me, but I felt so pressured to stop the story and perfect my biomes before moving on with the story, which is absolutely not what you’re not meant to do. Give it a read if you’re in a similar boat, it helped me reframe my thinking.
