Pokémon Pokopia has a very prosperous future, with a major DLC set to arrive in early 2027.
If you’d told Pokémon fans that Pokémon Pokopia - a cosy spin-off of the franchise - would become both a GOTY contender and the series’ highest-rated game, they probably wouldn’t believe you.
That’s exactly what happened though, with Pokémon Pokopia quickly becoming a major console seller of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Players assume the role of a Ditto that’s taken a human form; they’re tasked with bringing ‘mon back to various lands by restoring habitats after all humans mysteriously disappeared.

The reason behind that will become abundantly clear as you progress through the narrative which will take you through the Withered Wastelands, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and Sparkling Skylands.

Already, the game is positively huge with very few players having truly decorated all of the many lands to their optimum liking - especially given that there are Cloud Islands and Palette Town to contend with too.
Even still, the game could eventually double in size with five new DLC lands having previously leaked.
Now, we have some idea as to when those lands may begin to arrive.
Pokémon content creator Light_88_ took to Twitter/X claiming that the first of Pokopia’s DLCs has a planned launch window of Q1 2027, so we’re talking January to March.
That’s approximately one year after the game’s release which seems fitting.
Of course, take this information with a pinch of salt, but it does signal that Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, and Koei Tecmo are giving players enough time with Pokopia before piling new content upon them.
To reiterate, five bonus lands have leaked thus far. They are as follows:
While the Cinnibar region sounds similar to Rocky Ridges, these are all new areas as the game’s pre-existing areas are also mentioned in the leak, referred to as the Fuschia area, Vermillion area, Pewter area, and Saffron area.
Within that Q1 2027 DLC, it’s unknown whether multiple new lands will be introduced or just one at a time.
Light_88_ also mentioned that over 100 new ‘mon are expected to eventually be added to the game, including possible Winds and Waves starters.
It’s also expected that Ditto could gain over three new forms, including one for Kingler.
It seems likely Ditto will soon be able to travel underwater then which explains why the base game features so much unreachable underwater loot.
Again, take this information with a pinch of salt until official confirmation lands, but it sounds like Pokémon Pokopia is going to continue to dominate the cosy gaming space for years to come.
I just hope those new Ditto forms don’t make me want to overhaul the four base lands after all of my hard work.
