Pokémon Pokopia is easily one of the year’s standout frontrunners for GOTY alongside Resident Evil Requiem.
It’s also a game that is positively huge.
Players of Pokémon Pokopia gain access to four main lands in the form of the Withered Wastelands, Rocky Rides, Bleak Beach, and the Sparkling Skylands.
Then, there’s the multiplayer friendly Palette Town and cloud islands, and you’ll be hardpressed to find someone who’s decorated all of those areas to their optimum level.

I’m 70-hours into Pokopia. In that time, I’ve rolled credits and undertaken renovating Bleak Beach but even that is only perhaps 30% complete.
It’s with this in mind that it’s hard to know whether to be excited or terrified at the thought that Pokémon Pokopia could potentially more than double in size.
That’s because a leak, as reported by CentroLeaks, suggests that five DLC lands are in the works for the game. Wow.
“From 2024 documents, the following areas were being planned for the DLC,” CentroLeaks wrote on Twitter/X.
“Note we don’t know how much things have changed since then, as for example Viridian Area was actually going to be part of the base game but ended up being cut.”
Pokémon Pokopia is reportedly set to gain a Viridian area with a “never ending burning forest of ash”, a Cerulean area with “a flooded city that has hidden treasure”, a Cinnibar area with a “forever sealed dead volcano island”, a Lavender area with a “rotten tower that reaches heaven”, plus a Caledeon area with “a giant crater that reaches unseeable depth”.
None of these areas currently exist in the game even if, for example, the Cinnibar area shares similarities with what we know as Rocky Ridges.

We know this as all four of the base game’s areas were also included in the leak, referred to as the Fuschia area, Vermillion area, Pewter area, and Saffron area.
CentroLeaks further added that “the original plan was to release one location at a time, not all of them at once”.
Of course, this all must be taken with a pinch of salt as Koei Tecmo, The Pokémon Company, and Nintendo may change their plans.
It certainly would be strange though to scrap what clearly is a ton of content.
Every area within Pokopia is respectably sized, introducing its own items, block types, plus a ton of ‘mon.
Perhaps the game seeks to add one new land per year, keeping us occupied for several years to come, or maybe we’ll be lucky and receive one every few months.
While plenty of us are a long way off finishing our renovation efforts in the base game, we’re hardly going to turn down the opportunity to extend the Pokémon Pokopia experience.
“So no ice Pokémon still? Unless they get put into Cerulean?” asked user wuyangz.
“Obviously this game already has dark implications, but these areas would definitely make things a lot darker,” added MythothZX.
“A lavender town area would be epic,” remarked LuckyCat2088018.
Let’s hope the truth about these plans comes to light sooner rather than later.
