Pokémon Legends Z-A full map shown off, and it's massive

Seems the Lumoise City we were allowed to explore in X and Y barely scratched the surface

Even though we just got our first proper trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A less than 24 hours ago, we already have one more new piece of info; a look at the upcoming game’s entire map.

Pokémon Legends Z-A’s trailer gave us a lot of info to sink our teeth into, such who our starter Pokémon will be, how traversal throughout the city will work, and even our first proper confirmation that Mega Evolutions are coming back.

However, the reveals don’t stop there, as there’s somehow just as much info packed into this little official image (thanks Serebii.net) of the Lumiose City map that just hit the internet.

This image alone confirms a bunch of stuff, such as some of the Pokémon we’ll be able to encounter, how many different areas of the map there will be and– oh god, is that the creepy ghost girl from Pokémon X and Y in the top right?

Seems the r/pokemon community has already taken to theorising what parts of the map could represent too.

“I love the idea of expanding one area of pokemon, which were always supposed to represent a bigger area than they were, into a fully playable area like this, such a cool idea,” commented user crossingcaelum.

“I hope we get to go inside a bunch of buildings and go underground too, that would help put some extra spaces in there to flesh it out.”

“Honestly, I really like this. Making it “open-city” instead of “open-world” allows them to (hopefully) pack more detail into every nook and cranny,” replied user eMF_DOOM.

“Kinda addresses the complaints of the open world being “too empty”. I’m actually really looking forward to this.”

You know one thing I’ve yet to see confirmed anywhere though? Is Pokémon Legends Z-A taking place in the future, or the past?

That map certainly looks futuristic, but parts of it also look overrun and wild… makes me wonder if the whole futuristic aesthetic is just the set-up for a bait and switch.
