The next rumoured Pokémon game will apparently be one we've been waiting years for, and will allegedly be announced on Pokémon Day.

Pokémon Day is always an exciting time for fans as it usually means a Pokémon Presents is right around the corner, and 2025 is now exception as one has been announced for 27 February.

While anything could be on the cards I’m sure many of us will be hoping for a gameplay reveal of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, as we’ve heard absolutely nothing about the game since this teaser

Aside from the next Pokémon Legends game though rumour has it that we’ll finally be getting re-releases of the Gen I, Gen II and Gen III games as part of a new collection, not via Nintendo Switch Online.

Hidden Power Podcast recently shared some leaked information on X saying two collections will be announced during the next Pokémon Presents with a release date of March.

These will apparently be Pokémon Memories, which will contain Pokémon Red, Ruby and FireRed, and another collection titled Pokémon Reminiscence, which will contain Pokémon Blue, Sapphire and LeafGreen.

It’s also said those who purchase the digital editions will receive Pokémon Yellow, Crystal and Emerald.

If this is true it’s a huge deal to Pokémon fans everywhere, as we’ve been yearning to replay these games on modern platforms considering the price of physical versions has skyrocketed in recent years.

Of course we need to take this with a pinch of salt as similar “leaks” were shared last year as well, but given the excitement around the next mainline game and the imminent release of the Nintendo Switch 2, now feels like a good time for the Pokémon Company to re-release these retro titles.

All we can do now is wait for the Pokémon Presents on 27 February and see what gets announced, hopefully it’s worth the wait.
