The latest Pokémon showcase has just aired, and we finally got more details for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including a look at our three starting Pokémon.

We’ll get into more details on the game, which was shown via a gameplay trailer, showcasing the catching mechanics similar to the Let’s Go and Pokémon Go! Games, for now, let’s look at our starters.

As we as trainers explore this new game, we’ll be introduced to our three starters, Tepig, Chikorita, and Totodile.

These Pokémon were heavily rumoured before the game debuted today, so it’s great to see who we’ll travel with in Lumiose City.

The game is scheduled to arrive ‘late 2025’ and will see all-new catching techniques, as well as new ways to battle throughout the game.

We also got a sneaky glimpse at mega evolutions, which will be a large focus of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Fans have been waiting for months for the next big Pokémon game, likely the final to appear on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s likely that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also release for the Nintendo Switch 2, perhaps with enhanced visuals, but information isn’t available on this yet.

The game is heavily styled after the visuals we saw in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Of course, now we know who our starter Pokémon are, we can start hoping that each will get their full evolution line, plus the mega evolutions.

We got some small looks at other Pokémon who will be available to catch on our new journey, but fans will now start wondering who they will choose to play with from the off.

Will Totodile still dominate as a powerful water-type Pokémon? Is Tepig going to set the world ablaze? And is Chikorita going to grow and adapt as your favourite?

We don’t have long to wait until we can get our hands on these amazing starters.
