PlayStation 5s are out and as happy as we are for next-gen, we're sure many of you have been putting away your PlayStation 4s too. Unplugging the console to make way for the PS5's monolithic structure is exciting but as we moved the PS4, memories flooded back to us. So many hours have these incredible machines entertained us and shown us story after story, game after game.

A fan has obviously had a somewhat emotional connection to the device too as a farewell to the PlayStation 4 has popped up on Reddit, and it's beautiful. The fan going by the name of Ciocvn on Reddit has compiled some of the moments of the console's best games and we'd be lying if we said it didn't make us tear up just a little bit.

From Ratchet and Clank to Infamous: Second Son, from Uncharted 4 to God of War the entire family is here. Iconic voice lines echo overtop capture from the games. Aloy rides past on a beast while Ellie fights her way through enemies and The Hunter strolls through Yharnam. It's a fantastic collection of amazing moments in the PlayStation 4's life and it's a joy to watch.

Some fans on Reddit have noted though that although we're moving to the next generation in games, there is no need for this to be a true farewell. We still have our consoles and with backwards compatibility, we still have the games. Some of us haven't even moved onto the PS5 yet, the PS4 still have a good few years of support in them at least so it's not a full goodbye - more a see you later old friend.

Thanks for the memories Sony, and thanks to Ciocvn for helping us look back and truly appreciate the years of the PlayStation 4.
