In this modern console generation video games have never looked better and for the most, they play better than ever too, and with subscription services such as PlayStation Plus, there are plenty of gorgeous games to choose from.

We know that video games are not always about graphics but some sweet visual eye candy never hurts whether we’re playing the likes of God of War Ragnarök, the Demon’s Souls remake, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and so much more.

Check out the Horizon Forbidden West trailer below!

With that in mind, Reddit user chilesgalaxy asked what are the “best games on the [PS Plus] service from a purely visual flex performance. “After having a PS5 for over a year, we’ve finally invested in a decent 4K screen to go with it. It’s amazing, I feel like we’ve just upgraded to a whole new console generation.

The Reddit user mentioned that they have already played Returnal, Immortals of Aveum and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and the thread wasn't short of visually splendid suggestions. Many of these can be played for free if subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, including the aforementioned God of War Ragnarök.

“Horizon Forbidden West,” recommended greentiger79 to which Dio_my_senpai replied, “It looks amazing to me, the best-looking game I've ever played.” Deadspinach also recommended Horizon Forbidden West along with The Callisto Protocol and A Plague Tale: Requiem from a “visual standpoint” on PS Plus.

Other visual recommendations included the likes of Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch Productions, Detroit: Become Human from Quantic Dream and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy from Eidos Montréal to name a few.

If you subscribe to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers there are hundreds of games at your disposal offering visual delights and gameplay innovation. Just try not to throw too many games on your ever-expanding pile of shame.
