Good lord, Sony hasn’t held back this month, huh? In case you missed the announcement yesterday, more free PlayStation Plus games are upon us, and all our backlogs are going to be completely flooded for the foreseeable future.

Those eager to see the new Extra and Premium-tier games yesterday were probably a bit perplexed by the announcement at first - Sony first revealed a very small selection of games being added to the Extra-tier catalogue, and then a few minutes later, scrapped that plan and unleashed a whopping 28 titles upon us, including Far Cry 6, A Hat in Time and Killzone: Liberation. I'm not sure why it happened that way, but I’m not complaining.

Take a look at our interview with Giancarlo Esposito on playing Far Cry 6’s villain below.

As you’d expect, over on Reddit, gamers are thrilled with the enormous PS Plus lineup, which will be playable from next week: “This looks pretty f***ing amazing for one month,” The-Car-Is-Far commented. “If you’re a quality indie game enthusiast, this month is a big W,” wrote platinumchaser300.

If you’ve already pored over the list of upcoming games, you might have noticed that there’s a handful of child-oriented titles, namely PAW Patrol Mighty Pups: Save Adventure Bay!, My Friend Peppa Pig, and DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace. While these understandably won't be the most exciting additions to many adult gamers, a number of parents in the Reddit thread expressed how excited they are to share some games with their kids, which is really wholesome.

“Very happy to get Peppa Pig. My 3-year-old daughter loves Peppa, can't wait to sit down and play it with her,” coldhardcrash wrote. “My 5-year-old has just started taking an interest in games, this is wicked for some bits to play with her,” commented bigfattony89.

Yesterday, Sony also confirmed that it will soon incorporate cloud streaming for PS5 games as a new feature for Premium subscribers, which is exciting. This is still in the early stages right now, so don’t expect to see it any time soon, but it’s certainly nice to give those paying for the priciest tier something else to justify the cost.
