Somehow, November has practically drawn to a close which means it’s time for December’s Essential tier PlayStation Plus line-up. It’s also known as the time my gaming backlog inevitably grows larger. Will I ever catch up? If I shook a Magic 8 Ball right now, I think it would tell me, ‘The chances are slim.’
Last month’s line-up was pretty good. If you missed that, November brought us Nioh 2, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection, and Heavenly Bodies. Those titles will only remain downloadable for a few more days so if you haven’t yet nabbed them, what are you doing? Go, go, goooo. On 6 December, three new titles will become available so without further ado, let’s see what they are.
Speaking of Harry Potter, which common room are you most excited to explore in next year’s Hogwarts Legacy? Take a tour below.
Sony has officially confirmed December’s PS Plus line-up, as leaked yesterday by billbil-kun who is always very accurate when it comes to these things. In December, subscribers can get their hands on Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4), Biomutant (PS4/5) and Divine Knockout (PS4/5). Considering that Mass Effect Legendary Edition contains Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, it’s almost as if we’re getting five free games this month.

If you ask me, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the clear winner. In fact, I recently wrote about how every character friendzoned me in what was a rather tragic playthrough experience. Then again, you may get a laugh out of it, so enjoy. My sad virtual love life aside, Mass Effect is one of the greatest action RPG series of all-time so do give it a whirl if you haven’t already.
Biomutant is actually pretty similar, here me out. In this action RPG, the Tree of Life is polluting the world with poisonous oil. Players must unite warring tribes and factions to try and solve the issue, using a karma system. Who you ally with will affect your path, much like in Mass Effect. See, there is a link.
Divine Knockout is the odd one out this month. This brand new title isn’t actually yet released as I write this so I’m afraid I can’t tell you if it’s any good or not. The third-person platform fighter sees you brawl as gods though. ‘God of War but make it cute,’ is the vibe I’m getting. Happy playing!
