PlayStation haven't done the best job at keeping tomorrow's now confirmed State Of Play under wraps.

Quite a number of rumours were circling that we would see something more from Sony this March. Now we have the confirmation from the official PlayStation Twitter account telling us it is in fact very real. And we haven't long to wait for this new showcase - it's on tomorrow, 9 March, at 10pm GMT.

The 20-minute showcase will focus on games coming from Japanese publishers, with first looks and updates for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles alike. It has also been confirmed that despite the hardware's recent announcement, no PSVR 2 hardware or software will be shown.

Could we finally be getting some gameplay to accompany this 2020 trailer for Hogwarts Legacy? Probably not - but these things do throw up surprises...

So what exactly might be appearing in the State Of Play? First (and last) seen in 2020, rumours say Hogwarts Legacy will get a gameplay trailer and an 2022 release date soon - but whether that'll be in this State of Play, who knows. Also, last we heard of it, it was being developed at an American studio. Not very Japanese, then, but Sony hasn't ruled out featuring international studios, so it's still a possibility.

Another possibility is the announcement of Sly Cooper and Infamous comebacks. Both IPs are the creation of Sucker Punch Productions, a studio currently supposed to be working on a Ghost Of Tsushima sequel. As a first-party PlayStation studio, though, these IPs could be handed off to others under the Sony umbrella for the reboots. I'd personally love to see Team Asobi, the studio behind the Astro Bot games, get its hands on the thieving raccoon.

The only other first-party studio Sony owns in Japan is PolyPhony Digital, so there is a chance we could see some future Gran Turismo 7 updates. However, what is more likely is that we get to see new content from third-party developers, perhaps some of which will be exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

We likely won't see more of Street Fighter VI, though rumours of something Resident Evil-y have been swelling. Whether that's the new-gen upgrades for 2, 3 and 7, or DLC for the best-selling Village, we truly do not know. Sightings of Code Veronica and Outbreak give some weight to a Resi announcement being part of this State of Play, and we know everyone is looking for the fabled Resident Evil 4 Remake.

It's about time Square Enix revealed more about Final Fantasy XVI, but with the recent release of Triangle Strategy, fans shouldn't hold their breath. Rumours that some form of Metal Gear Solid remakes are in the works have been going strong for a while now. There is talk of some kind of Solid Snake-style PS5 collection on its way, so maybe that'll get announced by Konami.

We're not all going to get what we want, obviously. However, if it turns out the Dead By Daylight dating sim Hooked On You is real, I may just expire myself.
