One of the surprises of 2023 in what was a stacked year for video game releases is available to download and play for free on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S right now.

The game in question is Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora which was released in December 2023 and is developed by Massive Entertainment, the same studio that is bringing us the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws.

In my review of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, I said: “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a surprise cherry on top of what has been a fantastic year for video games and I encourage fans of the Avatar movies to put this unexpected charming delight on your ever-expanding wishlist.”

If for whatever reason you’ve not been able to play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, now might be the perfect opportunity because you can play its free trial from the beginning of the game up to when you reach the Hometree in the quest ‘The Aranahe Clan’.

Depending on how you approach the game, this generous free trial could last up to five hours, in which time, you can earn trophies on PlayStation 5 or achievements on Xbox Series X/S.

Enjoy a Free Trial of Avatar: Frontiers Pandora on PlayStation 5 and Xbox from now until July 28th!

When the trial is over and if you decide to purchase the full game, you’ll be pleased to know that all your progress will carry over but you need to act fast because the trial ends on 28 July 2024.

At the time of writing, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is discounted with the standard edition being reduced from £69.99 to £34.99 and the Ultimate Edition being reduced from £114.99 to £57.49, the latter of which includes season pass expansions as well as bonus DLC.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
