Xbox users can currently play six games at no additional cost, right now on their consoles.
Xbox Free Play Days is back with some bangers this time around. Granted the whole list of games isn’t great but there are some hidden gems I can’t wait to talk about.
The following games went live yesterday, 25 September, as free-to-play titles, and will remain free until 28 September; Bassmaster Fishing, Diablo IV, Dungeons 3, PGA Tour 2K25, Rematch and Trailmakers
I’m sure you’re looking at Bassmaster Fishing and PGA Tour 2K25 with confusion and I’m right there with you. Not exactly the hard-hitting AAA titles we’ve had in the past but I’m sure they have some fans out there.

Diablo IV is a bit of a controversial one. It reviewed quite well originally and it still has a fair amount of players grinding its end-game content, but it’s made several headlines since launch for its absurd DLC prices. Cosmetics in the game cost a fortune and some of them cost just as much as other games, it’s quite ridiculous if you ask me.
If you’ve seen that coverage and it put you off from playing now’s a good opportunity to give it a go, free of risk.
Without a doubt the best free game being offered this weekend is Rematch. If you haven’t played this yet I’d urge you to give it a go.
Developed by the team behind Sifu, Sloclap, Rematch is more than just a football game as it controls like a third-person shooter. I’m not a football fan by any means and I’ve sunk hours and hours into this game ever since it launched, it’s just that good. That said if you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass you’d have access to this game anyway, and the same can be said for Diablo IV.

Dungeons 3 isn’t a game I’ve heard of and at first glance it doesn’t look like my cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be one for you. It’s a dungeon-builder that lets you build a sprawling catacomb of traps and footsoldiers, not bad.
Finally there’s Trailmakers, another game I hadn’t heard of prior to being included on this list but one I’m actually interested in checking out. It’s a game that lets you build your own vehicles whether they be cars, tanks, mechs and more. Looks pretty neat.
These games are available to download and play for free until 28 September.
