Xbox Users Can Enjoy 4 Free Games Right Now, No Game Pass Needed

You better dive in, this is a time-limited offer

Free Play Days is back on Xbox, and this week’s edition actually lives up to its namesake.

I’ve always had somewhat of an issue with Free Play Days. Despite its name, the free games included in the weekly event’s line-up usually require an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

As you can imagine, that kills the vibe a little bit. Occasionally, a title is made free-for-all, but it’s certainly less common.

This month though, every single game included in Free Play Days falls into the free-for-all category, so gather around Xbox users.

You can now enjoy four free games for a limited time straight from your Xbox console or PC, no Game Pass subscription required.

A Chance to Sample a Great Fallout Entry

Let’s begin with the most generous offerings. Fallout 76 and For Honor are now both available to try for free, and they’ll remain unlocked until 5 February.

There’s arguably no better time to dive into Fallout 76 than now; the Prime Video TV adaptation has surely put you in the mood and with Season 2 drawing to a close very soon, you’re going to have to get your Fallout fix from somewhere else.

Fallout 76 is leaps and bounds above where it was when it launched, so I’d urge you to revisit the title if you weren’t impressed back then. It’s a blast to venture through the wastelands with friends.

For Honor is, as I’m sure you’re aware, a multiplayer arena action game that first launched back in 2017.

You shouldn’t be concerned if you don’t know what to expect. For Honor’s Starter Dominion game mode is perfect for bringing new players up to speed.

Both titles also have stellar offers running if you do want to continue playing past 5 February.

Fallout 76 is available for $7.99 instead of $39.99, whilst For Honor is on sale for $2.99 instead of $29.99. Offer pricing and duration will vary by region.

In the shorter term, Free Play Days is also giving all Xbox users access to Dead by Daylight and Grounded 2.

Hit horror release Dead by Daylight hardly needs an introduction. Players will either act as a Killer or Survivor, and with a collaboration with Stranger Things having recently landed, it’s a perfect play for those still devastated by Conformity Gate’s lack of fruition.

Grounded 2 is a charming survival title that sees you shrunk down in size in a giant park. If you haven’t played Grounded, that’s fine as this sequel quickly brings you up to speed.

In fact, I reviewed the title as a newbie to the series, writing, “In many ways, Grounded 2 is more of the same but I don’t think anyone came away from that first outing asking for anything different.”

“Feedback has been taken on board with this sequel offering a larger map, new bugs, a mount system, alongside other refined and retuned features that make for an experience that is more seamless, more immersive, and an undeniable improvement over what came before.”

Both titles are only free until close of play on Sunday 1 February. Dead by Daylight is $11.99 instead of $29.99 if you want to continue the fun. Grounded 2 remains at full price.

Four great games, so with your time already running out, I’d dive in and enjoy them as soon as you can.
