PlayStation 5 has dropped three new freebies that you can download and play today, without having to subscribe to PS Plus.
It might be that time of the month when many of us are getting paid, but that doesn't mean that we’ve got money to burn. When it comes to our expensive hobby of playing video games, we have to be smart with our money, regardless of our platform of choice.
Thankfully, while not as prominent as the good old demo disc days of the glorious 1990s, there are still a plethora of free demos that we can download and play on digital platforms such as Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Marketplace and Nintendo eShop.
With that in mind, here are three new PS5 demos that you can download right now on the PlayStation Store without a PS Plus subscription.
Developed by the indie studio Bonus Stage Oy, Gladio Mori is a very odd-looking and quirky multiplayer brawler that kinda looks as if Crashtest Dummies suddenly came alive and decided to have fights in a Roman Empire Colosseum.
Advert
“Gladio Mori is a physics-driven multiplayer gladiator combat game featuring dismemberment, organ-specific damage, and a fully customisable move editor. Craft your own fighting style or use community-created movesets to fight your way to glory,” the synopsis of Gladio Mori reads.
Gladio Mori doesn't have a full release date or price on PlayStation 5 at the time of writing, but its full version is available on Steam, priced at £13.49. So, I imagine that the PS5 version may be around the same price.
Next up is Turbo Rivals, which looks like a very basic old-school Need for Speed, I guess. The game is developed by the indie folks at Yash Future Tech Solutions.
“Turbo Rivals is a high-octane arcade racer where speed is a currency, and every corner is a battlefield. Master the art of the perfect drift to charge your turbo, outmanoeuvre aggressive AI rivals who adapt to your every move,” reads the description of the game.
It looks very low-budget, if I’m being perfectly honest, judging by the visuals and gameplay I’ve seen in the trailer. However, that doesn't mean Turbo Rivals isn't fun, because it might be.
Thankfully, you can download its free demo to see if it’s your cup of tea and if so, the full game costs just £7.39. It’s playable on PS5 and PS4.
Finally, the last free demo is for Unmourned VR, a new indie horror from
Codebros Studio. To the trailer's credit, this looks like it could be a fun horror game with plenty of scares and atmosphere. The only caveat, of course, as indicated by its name, is that this horror title is for PS VR2.
“Unmourned is a first-person psychological horror game where Jason moves into a new house only to be haunted by escalating paranormal events. Driven by fear, he must uncover the truth behind the previous owners' disappearance. Can he solve the mystery before it's too late?” reads the synopsis.
Unmourned does not have a release date or price at the time of writing. Hopefully, it might be released in its full form this year.
