The future of Xbox is steadily taking shape, as detailed in this next-gen console teaser.

Xbox fans might be questioning whether the future of Xbox is bright, however, we doubt they’ll be questioning how busy it’ll be.

Not only does this next-gen teaser hint at the power of its new hardware, but there’s also reports that Microsoft is working on a handheld device.

“The largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation” is what Xbox has promised its consumers.

That’s quite the statement to make, yet Microsoft appears quietly confident in its ability to deliver.

While we can only speculate on its appearance, or the games that’ll release, Xbox is already hiring engineers for multiple roles across the company.

Many excerpts from these job listings hint at the brand’s overall plan, however, it’s arguably the Xbox Graphics job listing that’s the most telling.

“The Xbox Graphics team is seeking talented engineers who are excited to work on state-of-the-art graphics, compression, and emulation systems [...] Working closely with hardware engineers and game developers, we define the future of graphics and game development.”

Although it doesn’t state that the successful candidate will be working on the Series X’s successor, the “we define the future” suggests that employees will be helping to make that promised technological leap possible.

Of course, these roles could be for the handheld device we mentioned earlier, or perhaps for another project we know little about.

Either way, delivering the very best in graphical advancement is what Microsoft is aiming for.

Should it reach its goal, we’re certain we’ll still need help years down the line to optimise our gaming experience.

After all, Xbox Series X users are only just realising they’ve been using the wrong graphics settings all this time.

Setting the standard for graphical power won’t just be a learning curve for Xbox, it’ll be one for us, as well.
