Halo’s next game will be announced at this year’s Halo Championship Series and as expected there are plenty of “leaks” floating around.
Halo Studios is reportedly working on a few new projects including a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved as well as a live-service multiplayer title that sounds like Halo: Infinite without the campaign.
No official confirmation on these projects has been shared as of yet but we’ll know soon enough when the Halo World Championship begins.
In the meantime there have been some seemingly legitimate leaks surfacing, mainly regarding that Halo: Combat Evolved remake, saying it’ll bring modern additions to the game like sprint and other gameplay features.

Fans have had a bit of fun with it though and have been sharing their own “leaks” and some of them have been a real blast from the past. Let me direct your attention to this “leak” by Kelski that I’m hoping will be familiar to many Halo fans.
This image of Master Chief standing in front of an enormous worm monster did the rounds back in 2010-2011 I believe just before Halo 4 was announced. I have memories of seeing it for the first time and actually think it was real for a few days, as did a lot of people judging off the game’s comments.

One fan said it’s an “image drilled into my brain forever” and another said “I vaguely recall seeing this image as a kid lol, liminal memories.”

This comment also made me chuckle, it says: “seeing this image all those years ago and really wanting to know what the f*** that thing was supposed to never leave my memory.”
For those that are still wondering what that massive worm monster is supposed to be or where it’s from, I actually have an answer for you. Apparently it’s a creature from a game called Gunman Chronicles, so there you go.
Despite being a clearly fake image this “leak” has become an interesting piece of Halo’s history so it’s actually nice to see it do the rounds again in the build-up to the next game’s reveal.
If future titles follow the open-world feel that Halo: Infinite had, complete with AI animals to interact with, I'd love to see Halo Studios include a little nod or reference to this Gunman Chronicles monster.
