Compared to what we’re seeing over at PlayStation, the free games coming to Xbox are putting its competitor to shame. Even more so now that Xbox has surprised everyone by adding a critically acclaimed RPG series to its service.

If you’re a fan of third-person shooters that have all the atmosphere of Bloodborne, you’ll be delighted to learn that Remnant: From the Ashes and Remnant 2 have been added to Xbox Game Pass. This is fantastic news indeed, yet Xbox hasn’t put out a single announcement about this, which is very odd, especially because Remnant 2 only launched in July of this year.

Rollerdrome recently also landed on Game Pass.

Still, it doesn’t take away from the fact that you’re getting a “very positive” scored franchise, promising “deadly creatures and god-like bosses”. It’s intense. It’s action-packed. It’s challenging. Basically, it’s a game you can easily lose hours to, as one fan attests, “Remnant 1 is one of the few 'souls-like' titles that I've hopped on to play for minutes, just to check the time and realise that hours had passed by instead.”

However, while it’s great news that these games are now on Game Pass, a lot of players are voicing their relief at having not partaken in the numerous Black Friday sales that heavily discounted them. “Oh man, I was SO close to buying this multiple times during the black Friday sale. My backlog is just too full so I decided to wait at the last minute. I got lucky,” said one relieved fan.

If you weren’t lucky enough to avoid this happening to you, there are many other highly-rated games available on Xbox. They’re not necessarily “souls-like”, but they’ll definitely keep you busy, so be sure to check out the Xbox free games we’re certain fans of Far Cry and similar franchises will love.

And if you haven’t yet heard about Xbox’s latest update, be sure to check that out as it includes many highly requested features that will massively help out all you PC players.
