Xbox Game Pass gets Starfield price cut as PlayStation Plus price goes up

Xbox Game Pass gets Starfield price cut as PlayStation Plus price goes up

A new Xbox Game Pass deal has arrived online, perfect timing if you plan on playing Starfield this week.

A new Xbox Game Pass deal has arrived online, perfect timing if you plan on playing Starfield this week.

Bethesda's first new IP in years, Starfield, launched last Friday for early access adopters, though those who bought the Standard Edition or want to play it on Xbox Game Pass are still waiting for their version to unlock.

Have you had the chance to play Starfield yet? Check out our review for the game below

Boasting an incredible open-world, quests comparable to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and more customisation options than you can shake a stick at, Starfield is definitely a contender for Game Of The Year, provided it can compete with Baldur's Gate 3 and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The wait is bound to be unbearable for some, especially after all the overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics. In our review, we called it an interstellar playground exceeding all expectations, and you can read the rest here.

Not to worry though, Starfield will officially leave early access and release for the masses tomorrow, 6 September for Xbox Series X/S and PC, meaning fans will finally be able to start their intergalactic adventure.

If you're one of the many waiting for the game to drop on Game Pass, you're in luck, as a new deal can grab you 3-months of Xbox's subscription service for a discounted price.

The deal comes from Amazon, which is currently selling the 3-month subscription at 30% of the original price. This means instead of $44.99 for three months, it's $31.49 instead, bargain. The deal also comes shortly after recent controversy surrounding a price-hike for PlayStation Plus, which has left fans done with PlayStation's subscription service for good.

Unfortunately, the deal is exclusive to the US variation of Amazon, so gamers in the UK or elsewhere will have to keep their eyes peeled for similar deals.

Starfield is currently available on Xbox Series X/S and PC for those who bought the Premium or Constellation versions of the game but will be released for everyone else on the 6 September this week.
