Xbox gamers have one week left to claim a hit game for free.

Everybody loves getting free games. If you’re a gamer on a tight budget, it can mean being able to play some of the best games around without breaking the bank.

Xbox has some particularly good picks if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, but even without the subscription, there are some games which are really worth checking out when they go free.

One such game is Tell Me Why, an episodic adventure game from Dontnod. That’s the studio that made Life is Strange, Vampyr, and more recently Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

Tell Me Why is available to download and keep throughout June.

During this time, if you claim the game on Steam, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S, you’ll be able to play all three episodes at any time.

With it now being the last full week of June, you have until Monday to claim the game and add it to your account. If you miss the window, you’ll be able to purchase it from the relevant store pages.

If you haven’t played Tell Me Why, we’ll keep spoilers as light as possible. It’s about two siblings who are able to communicate via telepathy, who reunite after a decade to investigate the death of their mother.

It was originally released in 2020, with each episode coming a week apart.

It meant that players had a chance to play through the story in small chunks and then discuss it online each week.

The game deals with a lot of queer themes and issues, particularly topics relating to transgender individuals. Hence, this is why Xbox Game Studios makes the game available for free every June as it corresponds with Pride Month.

Xbox has run this promotion for the past four years, starting in June 2021. It’s a good way to get eyes on the game, while also raising awareness of issues that transgender and queer people face.
