Xbox fans could win 50,000 points to spend on in-store credit, but only if they’re very, very, very lucky.

Recently Xbox announced that it’d be terminating the Microsoft Rewards app next month, the one-stop shop to earn points through gameplay store purchases that could then be turned into gift cards and other goodies.

Fear not though, a new iteration called the Xbox Rewards Hub has now launched, and while fans agree it’s got quite a while to go before it’s as good as Microsoft Rewards it’s at least something.

That being said, one fan recently shared the news they’d won a whopping 50,000 points via one of Microsoft Rewards prize options, and you could too if you’re lucky.

The winner, Bradleyharheez, shared the good news on Reddit whilst also wanting to know how long it’ll take for the points to enter their account.

For those unaware, while you can redeem your points on gift cards for a variety of different outlets, like the Xbox store, you can also redeem a small amount for Microsoft Scratch and Win cards.

There are several prizes to be won and they’re fairly cheap so you can redeem quite a few if you’ve got points to spare.

One of the prizes is obviously 50,000 points added to your balance, and when you total up how much the different tiers of Xbox gift cards cost you can bag just shy of $50 with that amount.

Of course the chances of you winning the same prize is very slim, but there are plenty of other fun prizes up for the grabs as well.

That being said, it's probably for the best that you hold onto your points for as long as they can, and just spend them on gift cards for things you actually want rather than gamble them away.
