Xbox gamers surprised with free store credit for their 'Birthday'

Bag yourself some extra points

Microsoft Rewards is, as I’m sure you know, a way in which Xbox users can earn points which can eventually be redeemed for various rewards.

That includes free store credit and given the price of AAA titles these days, a helping hand is always welcome.

Seemingly though, most Microsoft Rewards users are unaware that they can receive a massive points boost to celebrate their ‘birthday’.

Why the use of the inverted commas?

Well, it’s more of an anniversary as this refers to how many years it's been since you joined Microsoft Rewards rather than your actual birthday.

This was pointed out by Reddit user Erboka who received 500 points, accompanied by a message that read, “It’s been four years since you joined Rewards. Here’s our gift to you.”

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle lands on Xbox and PC next month. Take a look at the game in action below.

For context, Erboka is based in the UK and logged in to the Microsoft Rewards app to be met with this reward.

It appears that plenty of others missed this opportunity suggesting you need to log in on the day of your anniversary to be eligible.

There’s also little word on which anniversaries will receive a reward but I’d expect one, two, and three years might if four does.

Four is hardly a milestone number like five is usually considered to be.

“If you don't log in that day, you won't get it,” warned a knowledgeable TheCastro.

“I'll find out next week,” added a hopeful Any-Investigator-944.

“Seems like I've gotten one of these each year. I think. I'm old, and I've been a Rewards for a long time,” commented Obi-Hav seemingly confirming that this does indeed work every single year, provided you log in.

With that in mind, it’s definitely worth finding out when you created your account to note down when your anniversary day will be.
