Xbox users around the world are getting an unexpected freebie from the company, free store credit vouchers you can spend on the latest and greatest additions to the Xbox Store.
Over the past couple of months, there’s been a drastic change in Xbox, to the point where it almost feels like an entirely different company.
After taking over from Phil Spencer, Asha Sharma has been leading the charge on a new campaign to get Xbox back on track with its players.
From overhauling the way achievements look to bringing back the backwards compatibility program, there’s plenty for gamers to be looking forward to.

Most of these moves are seemingly being done to win back favour with Xbox owners but if the latest changes haven’t impressed you, it looks like the company might try bribing you instead!
Alongside the latest greatest additions to Xbox Game Pass, the company is also dropping free vouchers onto gamer’s laps.

These come in the form of a seemingly random message, like one received and shared by Idle Sloth on X.
“Spring is back with great savings!” reads part of the message, “here is a Gift Card that you can use to buy Games, Add-Ons and Apps on the Microsoft Store.”
The gift cards themselves are worth £5, which isn’t a lot but that’s £5 you don’t have to spend out of your own money when picking something up from the digital store.
Don’t try to hoard it though as there’s a hard deadline of 30 May for both redemption and use. If you’ve still got the credit by 30 May, it’ll disappear and you’ll have squandered your chance to save.
This is a question a lot of gamers are asking at the moment as while Idle Sloth received this freebie many others are reporting nothing.
Our advice is to sit tight though, as these offers never appear all at once and it might just take a bit more time for your voucher to land compared to others.
